Martin B. Crombie, DDS
Dr. Crombie graduated from
Harbor High Schoolm
in 1981. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from
Bowling Green State University
in 1985 before graduating cum laude from The
Ohio State University College of Dentistry
in 1989. He returned to Ashtabula that year to join his father, Robert B. Crombie, DDS, in their newly remodeled office. A year later, they were joined in practice by Dr. Martin’s wife, Debra A. Balogh-Crombie, DDS, whom he met in dental school and married in 1990.
Eight years later, continually growing practices allowed for the construction of a state-of-the-art dental office completed in March of 2000. Since dental school, Dr. Crombie has taken substantial postgraduate training in orthodontics, serving for two years as an assistant instructor for international lecturer Dr. Brock Rondeau, helping to train other dentists in straightwire orthodontics and functional appliances. He has also completed intensive training in temporomandibular (TMJ) disorders and orofacial pain through The Institute for Advanced TMJ Studies directed by Dr. Steve Olmos with additional training by Dr. Harold Gelb. He is pleased to provide this treatment to his patients for headaches and TMJ disorders. He also pursues continuing education in general dentistry to stay on the leading edge of his profession.
Dr. Crombie is a member of the American Dental Association, Ohio Dental Association, Northeast Ohio Dental Society, Academy of General Dentistry, American Academy of Craniofacial Pain, and the International Association for Orthodontics. He is past president and current member of Ashtabula Rotary, and a 1997 Leadership Ashtabula graduate.
Debra A. Balogh-Crombie, DDS
Dr. Balogh-Crombie was raised in Strongsville, Ohio and graduated from
Strongsville High School
in 1982. She earned her Bachelors degree in Biology at The
University of Toledo
in 1986 and was accepted to and graduated from
The Ohio State University of Dentistry
in 1990. Married in 1990 to Dr. Martin Crombie, their growing practices allowed for the construction of a state-of-the-art dental office completed in March of 2000.
Committed to education, she pursued her postdoctoral orthodontic training through The International Association of Orthodontics in 2000. She was asked and pleased to serve for two years as Assistant Instructor to Dr. Brock Rondeau in Washington, D.C. to help train other dentists in Straightwire Orthodontics and Functional Appliances. In response to her patients need for comprehensive treatment, she continued her postdoctoral education by completing intensive training in Temporomandibular Disorders and Orofacial Pain through The Institute for Advanced TMJ Studies, directed by Dr. Steven Olmos, with additional training by Dr. Harold Gelb. She is pleased to provide this treatment to her patients for headaches and TMJ disorders. The close relationship between orthodontics, TMJ disorders and sleep apnea/breathing disorders led Dr. Balogh-Crombie to pursue training for the treatment of Dental Sleep Disorders, including snoring and sleep apnea. Because she believes this treatment should be provided according to strict medical and dental guidelines, Dr. Balogh-Crombie is currently working towards her Diplomat status with the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine. She regularly pursues her Continuing Education in General Dentistry to stay on the leading edge of technology within her profession.
Dr. Balogh-Crombie is a member of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine , American Academy of Sleep Medicine, American Academy of Craniofacial Pain, American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, International Association of Orthodontics, Ohio Dental Association and Northeast Ohio Dental Society. She has been the Chairman and Director of the North Coast Dental Study Club since 1997, 15-year member of Ashtabula Rotary, 1996 Leadership Ashtabula graduate, Community Advisory Council member of Ashtabula County Medical Center and an Advisory Board member of Ashtabula County Joint Vocational School.
John M. Hoza, DDS
Dr. John Hoza is pleased to be able to offer quality dentistry to his neighbors in Ashtabula County. Dr. John earned both his bachelor’s of science (dental hygiene) and his dental degree from
The Ohio State University
. After dental school, Dr. Hoza practiced and continued his education for four years as a captain in the
United States Air Force
Dr. Hoza has taken numerous post-graduate education courses, specifically focusing on aesthetic dentistry. You can realize your dream smile with treatments such as orthodontics, porcelain veneers,or clear aligner trays (invisalign). A graduate of the Nash Institute for Aesthetic Dentistry , Dr. Hoza is committed to providing a functional, stable, beautiful, and healthy smile. Dr. Hoza places and restores both mini and traditional dental implants. Dr. Hoza is also certified in placing and restoring mini dental implants. Dr. Hoza is a member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry , Ohio Dental Association, Northeast Ohio Dental Society , and the International Association of Orthodontics.
Dr. Hoza is a member of the Ashtabula Kiwanis Club and the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Geneva. He enjoys spending time with his wife Danielle, daughter Maggie, and his family and friends. He enjoys golf, jet skiing, home improvement, and traveling.
Wilma is our Clinical Manager; she began her career with us in 1992. She is also part owner of Lake Erie Dental Assisting Academy. Wilma was born and raised in Ashtabula, graduating from Harbor High School and Cleveland Institute of Medical/Dental Assisting. She makes sure that the office stays in compliance with all Ohio State Board/OSHA regulations. Wilma has one son, Ronnie, and two precious grandchildren – Brady and Kaydence. Her furry pal is a rescue Chihuahua named Baby Girl. Her hobbies include sewing, crafting and lending a helping hand to anyone in need.
Shelley is our Administrative/Business Manager; she began her career with us in 1998. She is also part owner of Lake Erie Dental Assisting Academy. Shelley has two children, four grandchildren and two dogs. Her favorite hobby is planting flowers and vegetables.
Kim is one of our registered dental hygienists’; she began her career with us in 1999. Kim was born and raised in New Lyme where she still resides with her husband Chad and their two children – Sadie and Cooper. She graduated from Lakeland Community College with a degree in Dental Hygiene. Her favorite part of her day is taking care of her patients. Kim’s hobbies include refinishing furniture, working on home improvement projects and spending time with her family.
Yvonne is one of our registered dental hygienists’; she began her career with us in 2007. Yvonne completed her dental hygiene degree at Lakeland Community College. Yvonne and her husband, Jason, have 3 beautiful children and too many pets to mention. Her hobbies include bowling, amusement parks and attending her children’s sporting activities.
Mallory is one of our registered dental hygienists’; she began her career with us in 2013. She graduated from Lake Erie Dental Assisting Academy and received her dental hygiene degree from Fortis Institute. Mallory resides in Ashtabula with her two beautiful children – Brookelyn and Kennedy. She loves to spend time with friends and family.
Jamey is a certified dental assistant, she works primarily with Dr. Martin Crombie’s team and she began her career with us in 2005. She is pursuing her EFDA education with Case Western Reserve School of Dental Medicine. Once completed, she will be able to place permanent restorations. Jamey’s favorite part of assisting is taking care of patients, she feels like they are her extended family. Jamey and Nicholas, her husband of 18 years have twins Mark and Alyvia. Their furry pal is a rescue Whippet named Scarlet. Her favorite hobbies include photography, attending her children’s sporting events and relaxing at home.
Katie is one of our dental assistants’, she works primarily with Dr. John Hoza’s team and began her career with us in 2008. She is a graduate of Grand Valley High School as well as Lake Erie Dental Assisting Academy. Katie’s favorite part of assisting is interacting with her patient’s and learning about their families. Katie was born and raised on a farm in Windsor with her parents and 3 siblings but now resides in Rome with her husband, Kyle and son, Lucas. Their furry pals are miniature long haired dachshund’s name Captain, Milly and Maple. In her spare time she loves camping with her family.
Maxine is one of our dental assistants’, she works mainly with Dr. Martin Crombie’s team and began her career with us in 2015. She grew up in Williamsfield and graduated from Pymatuning Valley High School/A-Tech. Maxine also graduated from Bradford School in Pittsburgh, PA with an associate’s degree in Dental Assisting. Her favorite part of assisting is helping her patient’s achieve the smile they’ve always wanted. Maxine has many furry friends including four horses, three cats and two dogs. In her free time she volunteer’s with Wayne Township Volunteer Fire Department and spends time with her family.
Faith is one of our dental assistants’, she works primarily with Dr. John Hoza’s team and began her career with us in 2017. She graduated from Lake Erie Dental Assisting Academy immediately following her graduation from Lakeside High School. Faith’s favorite part of assisting is helping her patients find their perfect smile. Her furry pal is a feline named Bella and her favorite hobbies include spending time with her family and friends and playing video games.
Haley is one of our dental assistants’, she works primarily with Dr. Martin Crombie’s team and began her career with us in 2019. She is a graduate of Reynolds High School in Greenville, PA and Lake Erie Dental Assisting Academy. Haley’s favorite part of assisting is helping patients gain more confidence. Her furry pal is and American Blue Nose Pitbull named Pawblo. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with family.
Michelle is our insurance coordinator; she began her career with us in 2002. She grew up in Orrville and graduated from Orrville High School. Her favorite part of her job is helping patients understand their benefits and working to ensure their claims are paid properly. Michelle resides in Ashtabula with her husband, Ron, and their two children – Riley and Taylor. Their four furry cat pals include a Maine Coon named Attila, a calico named Reese Cup and tortoiseshell named Cursmudgeon and a black and white named Oreo. Michelle’s hobbies include home improvement projects, genealogy, reading and gardening.
Stacy is Practice Manager for Dr. Debra Balogh-Crombie’s team and began her career with us in 2002. She grew up in Monroe Township and graduated from Conneaut High School. Her favorite part of the day is talking with her patients. Stacy resides in Conneaut with her husband, Dave and daughter, Emma. They have many furry pals – Samson the Yellow Labrador, Thor the German/ Australian Shepherd mix and two felines – Chloe and Smokey. She also works at Evergreen Lake Campground and can be found camping there with her family in their free time.
Sheena is Practice Manager for Dr. John Hoza’s team and began her career with us in 2009. She grew up in North Kingsville and graduated from Edgewood High School and Lake Erie Dental Assisting Academy. Sheena has a wonderful son, Ayden and they love to play outside, swim and visit Zoo’s. Her free time is filled with family and fun.
Lindsay is Practice Manager for Dr. Martin Crombie’s team and began her career with us in 2011. She graduated from Edgewood High School and Lake Erie Dental Assisting Academy. Lindsay’s favorite part of her day is meeting new people and cultivating relationships with her patients. She and her husband, Anthony, reside in Ashtabula with their two children – Jackson and Piper. Lindsay can also been seen working at her husband’s insurance agency, Ohio Hometown Insurance. In her free time she enjoys spending time with family.
Joni is our Patient Care Facilitator and began her career with us in 2019. She grew up in Jefferson, graduating from Jefferson High School/ACJVS with a certificate for administrative assisting. Joni has a warm, friendly personality and loves greeting the patients. She has a daughter named Maddi and three furry Labrador pals named Paige, Parker James and Macee Mae. Joni’s hobbies include cheering her daughter’s softball team, kayaking/canoeing, playing cards, singing and spending time with family.
